Welcome Home Madison McKinney!

MEET MADDIE!

Taylor and I have been dog lovers since the beginning! Our dog  Bunni, a pekepoo, has been such a wonderful addition to our home that we decided to adopt again! We have been researching different breeds for a couple of years and are most attracted to the Great Dane breed. They seem to fit our lifestyle perfectly. Also known as the "gentle giant", Great Danes are HUGE snugglers who are seen as strong and elegant.
Our breeder Kristy, from Asheboro NC, was such a sweet individual that we knew Maddie was born in a wonderful home. She is a Blue Merle Great Dane which represents the pattern on her coat.

We feel so fortunate to have such a beautiful and loving new family addition!

Baby Girl

I'm an Aunt!! Well... sort of.

My cousin had a beautiful girl named Hivelee who is about 3 months  old now. With her having me around, we know that she won't grow up to be picture shy :)

This past weekend they came to visit. My cousin said that she would be calling me Aunt Ellie. My heart melted! I'm excited to capture her growth as she gets older and to think about her one day attending elementary school!

Vintage Jane

I love everything vintage!

With a store name of Vintage Jane, I knew I wouldn't be able to walk out with empty hands. This little store in Kernersville, NC has such a fun set up that is filled with character and creativity. I can't count the number of times that I walked around the store, only to find new things I liked each lap.

This camera was made in the 60's and is going to add a piece of my love for photography to my livingroom display.

Every girl needs a mannequin for her accessories :)

Best Medicine

Happiness is the best medicine.

Whether you enjoy dressing up, sharing time with family, drawing, listening to your favorite music, or trying new foods.. your happiness can determine your state of health.

Don’t forget that, through your busy week, you can become easily tied down by your job or your “things to do” list.  Challenge yourself to take some time to do something pleasurable. Whatever it may be, you will find life to be more enjoyable!

When I was younger, my favorite candy used to be gummy worms. Every road trip my family would take, my parents would let my brothers and I choose a pack of our favorite candy from the gas station to enjoy during the ride. Even though it seems so little, the candy would be what we would look forward to every trip. Knowing that I would be tied down at the computer for a while today, I stopped by the gas station to pick up some gummy worms. My workload doesn’t seem so bad now that I get to enjoy the sugary blast of flavor! The blue and red ones are my favoriteJ

Walking To The Music

Today I was able to spend some time in downtown Greensboro, NC to get a fresh cut&color at Bliss&Co!
Bliss is my favorite hair salon by far. I'm an emotional consumer who decides where I spend my money mostly based on the connection that I have with the people who work there, but it helps that they are extremely talented as well. I have never left the salon feeling disappointed or wishing for something different!

With my sassy new hairdo, I walked out of the salon doors and began to feel myself walking to the beat of live music playing near by. It's a feeling that I tend to get.. you know, the feeling where you picture yourself as a main character in a scene from a movie.

As I'm walking to my car to head back home to Mebane, I see the person playing the music that I had been walking to.

I asked: How long have you been playing?
He replied: 22 years, you would think I'd be better by now.

To be honest, although I do not know much about his instrument, he sounded great to me. His music was truly generated by soul and I could see his passion for it written all over his face.
The artists that I admire the most are the ones with true passion.

Jewelry Search

I am always looking to find accessories that complete my outfit as well as display my personality. Recently, my favorite finds were at H&M in Winston-Salem, NC. It happens to be one of those shopping experiences where I was looking for nothing but found everything in a matter of minutes!

Fashion can express who you are through its art, color and design. That is exactly what grabbed my attention with these pieces...

Aztec inspired bracelet. (My favorite)

Black jeweled and gold earrings.

Teal ring.

Turquoise and gold necklace.

The Elegant Relic

One day last week I decided to go out and search the town seeing as how I have lived here for over a month. I found this little shop in downtown Mebane, NC.
Love the atmosphere that it creates!

& as I was trying on different outfits, this little guy named Frank kept me company. He is the best shopping buddy you could ask for :)
